With the much hyped Windows 8 Previews and battling the mixed and rave reviews Windows 8 is finally coming. Windows 8 is scheduled to release officially by by the end of October this year, if there are no further glitches. Saying this I mean, that we will get to experience this original, fully-functional Windows 8 by this October.

By this official announcement, we can say that a RTM (Release to Manufacture) version will be available to developers roughly about a month earlier. It will be basically a retail version that will be provided to the developers before us, the poor consumers. But don't worry, the pirates of the internet world will make sure that the RTM versions are made available to the normal users, a.k.a. the poor consumers, via all the file sharing sites.

The announcement of the Release Preview was followed by the announcement of how many editions Windows 8 will have. We have seen this trend before even. The previous Windows version had more editions that people worldwide have memorized. the Startes, Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional and so on. With this latest release also, Microsoft is following the same path rather with some different names.

The Windows 8 editions are been listed below.
1. Windows 8
2. Windows 8 Pro

4. Windows 8 RT i.e. Run Time

Windows 8 will be loaded with all the features we have seen or used or heard about like, the new Metro UI, the all new taskbar, new Windows Explorer, better performance, better power efficiency, greatly user friendly and lots and lots more. Windows 8 is pretty much like the previous "Home Premium" editions. There are many similarities that compel every user to say that thay are pretty much analogous to each other. For normal users like us, Windows 8's simple edition will be more that enough.

Windows 8 Pro edition will contain all the features of Windows 8 and would be of more use to the professionals and power users such as virtual dwsktop, remote desktop, group management policy etc. The most important point of Windows 8 Pro is that this is the only edition that can be upgraded from Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate edition.

Coming to Windows 8 Enterprise Edition, this edition will only be available to multinational companies and corporations. It will include all the features of the Windows 8 Pro and will be loaded with additional features developed much for the software professionals like the advanced security, advanced virtualizations, network protocols and so on.

Now its time to know about the most interesting edition in this series. Windows 8 RT, which stands for "Run Time", will only be available to Original Equipment Manufactures (OEM), which is associated with the making of mobile computing solutions such as tablet PCs. Since Windows 8 will be the first version to support the ARM architecture, Windows 8 RT has been optimized for mobile devices, touch-based UIs.
